PUBG System Requirements: Min & Recommended
Can your PC run PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds? The answer is reassuring: PUBG has surprisingly modest system requirements, at least for minimum performance. But if you’re aiming for smooth 60 fps play or higher, you’ll need a more capable setup. Here’s what you really need to know, from the updated minimum specs to real-world hardware recommendations.
Minimum System Requirements (Updated)
Developer PUBG Corp. has raised the bar from earlier minimums. The old spec called for a dual-core Core i3-4340, 6 GB of RAM, and a GTX 660—a combination that often struggled to maintain even 30 fps. The new minimum is more realistic:
- OS: 64-bit Windows 7, 8.1, or 10
- CPU: Intel Core i5-4430 / AMD FX-6300
- RAM: 8 GB
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 2GB / AMD Radeon R7 370 2GB
- DirectX: Version 11
- Network: Broadband Internet
- Storage: 30 GB free space
While these specs will let the game run, don’t expect a great experience at minimum settings. For a playable framerate you’ll likely need to drop resolution or detail.
Recommended Hardware for 60 fps and Beyond
PUBG Corp. suggests a more robust setup for a proper experience:
- OS: 64-bit Windows 10
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1600 / Intel Core i5-7600K
- RAM: 8 GB
- GPU: NVIDIA GTX 1060 6GB or better
Windows 10 is strongly advised for better performance and ongoing updates, though Windows 7 and 8.1 will still work.
